This Heritage School Program is fun for the entire family!

Johnny McGrew will teach everyone how to design and build a child's Shaker chair!

  • Build a child’s shaker chair, include turning the spindles on the lathe
  • Assembling the chair
  • Weaving bottom of chair with Shaker cloth
  • Discussion of building techniques

Cost: $5 for non-members, price includes a full tour of the Museum.

Time: 11 AM -1 PM

Cherokee Basket Weaving by Tonya Dockery (Jan 6)

This Heritage School Program will be presented by Tonya Dockery and will include a demonstration of Cherokee 1700’s basket weaving with pine needles.

On display will be various baskets made of split oak and honeysuckle vines and various related Cherokee artifacts.

Cost: $5 non-members, prices includes a full tour of the Museum!
