The Midwives' Quilt by Dr. Gail Palmer

"Dr. Gail Palmer has produced a large body of work on the Great Smoky Mountains.... Her books share a native's look at the mountain people, a captivating and entertaining model for communicating local history through storytelling." Betty B. Best, journal editor, Blount County Genealogical & Historical Society, nominated Palmer for the ETHS award. Dr. Palmer holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she served as director of the Advising Center for the College of Communications.  On Tuesday, July 11 at 6:00 PM at the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum she will discuss...The Midwives' Quilt: A Tale of Conflict and Intrigue in the Smoky Mountains. She will also bring the 6'x6' quilt for everyone to see.

She has been featured on WBIR-TV  “Alive at 5”.
